One of our least favourite aspects of the 2022 Ford F-150 Lightning Lariat we purchased for our
extensive testing is its excessive dependence on the large touchscreen in the dashboard.
Simple actions like changing the driving mode or adjusting the heated and cooled seats have traditionally
involved many steps, much like seeing your grandparents type an SMS. A large volume knob serves
as the single physical button on the whole display.
However, our 2022 F-150 Lightning got an over-the-air (OTA) software update this afternoon that
completely changes how we interact with the electric pickup.
The updated software makes better use of the knob and enables it to do more functions than before.
